Have had a cough and have been wheezing for about two weeks. It seems to be getting worse. What could it be? ?

I don't have a fever or much other symptoms except being stuffy. It seems to be getting worse. I don't want to go to the doctor yet cuz they usually just tell me it's a cold ://
