My left front tooth and gum hurts what can this be?

I had started having pain like a throbbing pain out of nowhere in my left front tooth area, I think its the gum. Everything looks fine....I always brush after every meal no signs of cavity in that area and doesn't look swollen to me (usually i can tell when my gums are swollen bc they get extremely puffy). It started after I got the signs of a really bad cold this morning, stuffy nose sore throat. Can this be what is causing the pain? The only nostril that seems not stuffed is the left one too, which makes me think this has something to do with me being sick, possibility?
