If a Monarch acknowledged a child born out of wedlock, would the child have a place in the line of succession?

In an absolute monarchy a child born out of wedlock can have a place in the line of succession. An example of this were two sons born out of wedlock to France's King Louis XIV (1638-1715). Louis XIV forced legislation in Parlement that allowed his two illegitimate sons to succeed to the throne after the other princes of the blood. That provision was repealed after Louis XIV's death.
