Is it wrong for a Christian Minister to abandon children he had before marriage and continue it?

my parents minister is a born again Christian who had a child out of wedlock when he was young and walked out on her and her mother when she was young. He then remarried and started to go to church. He had four children with his wife and never accepted his first child even though the rest of his family did. He is now a minister and his daughter is a grown woman who is very hurt by her father. my family wants me to go to church but I cant accept what he does and will not go because I believe he is a fake Christian. He makes excuses up to his followers that she is a child of sin and he had to move forward as a Christian and forget his old life. Is this not wrong?
