Why do Jews follow the prohibitions of eating pork in the OT but not the other ones?

The "no pork" rule originally had nothing to do with religion. It was because in Israel there was a time when alot of the pork was infected and had diseases and the jews didn't eat any of the meat because of that. But now i guess it's become a part of the religion.
