Could someone critique this for me?

A one-year-old son, traveling with a manservant and not her husband, "her true situation," she's not visiting her aunt but staying there permanently... all of this adds very obviously up to bastard-born-out-of-wedlock scenario, which means you don't have to state it so baldly in paragraph 3. Overdose.
