Is this a double standard?

The first senator was John Ensign and he has resigned. He's in trouble for lying to the senate committee investigating it, illegally violating lobbying laws, misuse of campaign funds and other serious ethical crimes relating to him trying to hid the affair. None of which was for adultery itself. Not a double standard.
